Introducing Oatmeal Macarons

This lovely new member here at Dolce Mattina took quite a bit of labor, but it is well worth it. A shell made partially with ground toasted oats filled with a caramel buttercream. The perfect breakfast macaron --- right?

The children are grown and I have the opportunity to pursue new adventures in this season of life. "Dolce Mattina" is Italian for "sweet morning". Don't we all love sweet things? I covet friendships with people who are sweet; I look forward to sweet times of restful relaxation or discovery; I welcome sweet acts of kindness from others; and, of course, I enjoy sweet food.
